Qualifications

Lutron Electronics, a privately held large international technology and manufacturing company, seeks an attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join our highly collaborative in-house legal team at our global headquarters. You will work alongside, and learn from, a close-knit team of experienced legal professionals who are committed to mentorship and investing in your career development. This position reports to the Senior Director of Compliance with regular and direct responsibilities to the Director of Business Law. You will also work closely with other senior leaders in the legal department including those focused on IP and Litigation. The right person for this role will be curious, a quick learner and excited to build a career doing interesting, challenging, and internationally oriented work for one of the world's leading providers of lighting controls and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal research and counsel on a broad range of compliance topics including Data Privacy, Sustainability, Product, Packaging, Trade, Certifications, and others. This will involve working directly with cross-functional teams, experts, and leaders from across the company including those in engineering, marketing, sales, and operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements. This will include both sell-side and buy-side supply and services agreements, SaaS and other tech transaction agreements, and more. You will also help build and maintain our templates, playbooks and other resources.
  • Help develop and deliver relevant, engaging and practical trainings for Lutron employees at all levels of seniority.
  • Support IP and Litigation teams on an as needed basis.
  • Help build a scalable set of legal processes and operations to increase team efficiency and reduce repetitive work to support Company growth.

Qualifications
  • Intellectual curiosity and appetite for mentorship - whether from senior attorneys, company leaders, or experts in non-legal fields. No prior expertise in Compliance or Commercial law required – but a willingness to learn is a must!
  • 3-5 years of legal experience. Experience at a top-tier national or international law firm preferred.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar. J.D. from a top-tier law school preferred.
  • Proven analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. You must be able to synthesize complex facts and legal issues into short, business-oriented recommendations for non-legal stakeholders.
  • Excellent research abilities with attention to precedent, detail, and practical application.
  • Experience with companies in technology and/or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology (such as undergraduate major or minor in a STEM field) preferred but not required.
  • Reliable, collaborative, and able to manage competing priorities.
