Great American Media seeks a growth-centric Corporate Counsel to join our Texan headquarters in Arlington on a hybrid schedule (onsite Tue–Thu, remote Mon & Fri). This full-time attorney role requires 1–3 years of relevant in-house or equivalent experience and a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school, licensed to practice in at least one U.S.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, preferably Texas.
• 1–3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an in-house department; law firm experience in corporate, commercial, media or related matters will be considered.
• Strong analytical, research, writing, negotiation, and communication skills with high professional ethics and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Assists with research on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory developments.
• Drafts, reviews, and negotiates distribution, commercial, vendor, marketing, talent, and other agreements to minimize risk.
• Supports litigation, arbitrations, and coordination with outside counsel; assists with corporate and organizational structure matters.
• Conducts legal research and helps identify and mitigate day-to-day business risks.
• Assists with cross-functional legal matters under senior counsel supervision and performs other projects.
• Builds positive relationships with internal stakeholders and provides practical, business-oriented legal support.
• Monitors and summarizes legislative, regulatory, and industry changes for the teams.
• Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

We are seeking a growth-centric, excellence-focused Corporate Counsel to join our team. Ideal candidates will be able to work a hybrid schedule at our Texas Headquarters in Arlington (typically onsite Tues/Wed/Thurs and remote Mon/Fri).

Job Purpose

The Corporate Counsel supports the legal team at Great American Media under the supervision of the Deputy General Counsel. This is a full-time attorney role for a lawyer with 1–3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an in-house legal department, who will assist with corporate, commercial, compliance, and general legal matters.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists the legal and executive teams with research and analysis on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory developments.
• Drafts, reviews, and negotiates distribution, commercial, vendor, marketing, talent, and other agreements and legal documents to minimize risk and protect the company's legal rights.
• Supports litigation, arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and pre-dispute matters, including coordination with outside counsel; assists with corporate and organizational structure matters.
• Conducts legal research; identifies, evaluates, and helps mitigate legal risks in day-to-day business operations.
• Assists with cross-functional legal matters under senior counsel supervision and performs other projects and duties as assigned.
• Builds positive working relationships with internal business stakeholders and provides practical, business-oriented legal support under appropriate supervision.
• Collaborates effectively as part of the legal team and contributes to a positive team environment.
• Monitors and summarizes relevant legislative, regulatory, and industry changes for the legal and executive teams.
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, preferably Texas, in good standing.
• 1–3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an in-house legal department; law firm experience with corporate, commercial, media, entertainment, or comparable matters will also be considered.
• Working knowledge of corporate, commercial, compliance, and general business law; strong analytical, research, writing, negotiation, and communication skills; and high professional ethics and discretion.
• Nice to have: media, entertainment, streaming, advertising, technology, or other similar industry familiarity; prior in-house or business experience; and strong contract drafting experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to multi-task effectively and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Working Conditions

This position is in an office environment and may require some travel. The hybrid schedule typically consists of being onsite Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and remote Monday/Friday.

Depending on the candidate’s location, we may consider a fully remote position.
