Job description

Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our New York is looking for a new Corporate Controller Road Logistics to join our Finance team.

Your Role

Supporting Business Unit Road Logistics and especially its management as a business partner, by means of analysis, communication & implementation of corrective actions underlined by procedures and efficient processes, further improve profitability.

Your Responsibilities
  • Monitoring & advising the business fields including respective business & actions plans;
  • Customer Profitability and/or product analysis;
  • Sales Target setting and Sales Performance analysis within the Business Unit across sales channels;
  • Analyse productivity and margin developments also in combination with volume and market trends;
  • Controlling operational procedure and areas impacting cost/profitability;
  • Prepare the monthly MIS for the business unit, including its products and acquisitions;
  • Coordination and analytical support for forecast/target setting;
  • Coordination of investment applications;
  • Support of new acquisitions projects (due diligence, request for acquisition);
  • Creation of and enforcement of corporate policies and guidelines;
  • Secure maintenance and compliance to policies, guidelines, and procedures;
  • Seek ways to improve efficiency and automate processes;
  • Manage and follow up corrective action plans;
  • Act as advisor to the business fields of the business unit;
  • Coordination of reviews of critical business fields, geographies and/or acquisitions as the situation may require;
  • Develop effective partnerships and relationships with support finance teams (Local Accounting, Knowledge Centre and Global Services) and key stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of expectations, demands and internal processes;
  • Transfer knowledge to and train national Controlling Teams;
Your Skills and Experiences
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) / Controlling.
  • Fluent in English (Spanish or German is a plus).
  • 3+ years of helping to create Sales Target and Sales Performance analysis within the Business Unit across different sales channels.
  • 3+ years of analysing and creating business plans and following up on business plan execution.
  • University degree in business administration/finance/controlling or professional qualification in accounting.
  • Knowledge and experience in strategic planning and target setting processes.
