ttg Talent Solutions is seeking a Corporate Controller for a PE-backed Miami-area contractor. The role leads all accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury, and internal controls, partnering with the CFO to ensure GAAP accuracy and compliance across growing business units.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in accounting with 3–5 years in leadership, extensive experience in ASC 606, WIP, AIA billings, and job costing within construction or real estate development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA designation a huge plus / pursuing CPA with project accounting exp.
  • 10+ years accounting/financial reporting, 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Experience in construction or related industries.
  • Full close cycles and U.S. GAAP reporting experience.
  • Strong leadership, analytics, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages for PE sponsors.
  • Oversee lender reporting, covenant calculations, and credit facility reporting.
  • Support Board presentations, bank refinancing, and waivers/amendments.
  • Direct monthly close processes and external audits.
  • Own the WIP schedule, review cost-to-complete estimates, and audit billings.
  • Drive accounting automation and ERP upgrades; lead treasury tasks.

Position Overview

The Corporate Controller i is a senior finance leader overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury, and internal controls while partnering closely with the CFO. Operating in a PE-owned environment, this role ensures financial statement integrity, lender covenant compliance, sponsor reporting, and process automation across expanding business units. Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications


  • Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; or related

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation a huge plus (or candidate actively pursuing CPA with relevant project accounting experience) a huge plus

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in construction, specialty contracting, architecture & engineering (A&E), commercial real estate development, or job-cost manufacturing is highly desired.

  • Languages: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated track record of managing full financial close cycles and consolidated U.S. GAAP financial reporting.

  • Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing finance teams alongside excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Job Costing & Revenue Recognition: Hands-on expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting, Estimate at Completion (EAC), and Cost-to-Complete (CTC) forecasting.

  • WIP & Billing: Strong experience managing monthly Work in Progress (WIP) schedule reconciliations, over/under billings, AIA Billing (G702/G703), Schedule of Values (SOV), subcontractor retainage, and lien waiver processing.

  • Debt & Lender Compliance: Direct experience managing lender reporting, borrowing base certificates, covenant calculations, and credit facility compliance.

  • Internal Controls: Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining systems of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR).


Preferred Qualifications


  • Public Accounting: Public accounting experience Big 4 or national firm a plus

  • PE Platform Experience: Prior experience leading finance/accounting operations within a private equity-backed company.

  • M&A Support: Hands-on experience supporting M&A transactions, including financial due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-merger integration.

  • Systems & Analytics: Experience with construction/project accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 CRE/Timberline, Procore, Foundation, Deltek, NetSuite OpenAir, or Viewpoint) alongside BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL) and ERP implementations.

  • Treasury & Tax: Practical experience managing cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working with external tax advisors.


Key Responsibilities

Private Equity Sponsor & Bank Reporting


  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages, management accounts, KPI dashboards, and variance analyses for leadership and PE sponsors.

  • Oversee lender compliance, borrowing base certificates, credit facility reporting, and financial covenant calculations.

  • Support Board of Directors presentations, bank syndications, refinancing initiatives, and facility waiver/amendment processes.


Financial Close & Accounting Operations


  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and manage external audit engagements.

  • Own the monthly WIP schedule process, partnering with Project Managers to review cost-to-complete estimates, track project margins, and audit billings against contractual milestones.

  • Prepare consolidated U.S. GAAP financial statements and executive management reporting packages.

  • Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, treasury reconciliations, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.


Internal Controls, Tax & Treasury


  • Establish and enforce accounting policies, chart of accounts, and a robust ICFR internal control framework.

  • Ensure full regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local tax filings and statutory reporting.

  • Direct cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and daily treasury operations alongside external tax advisors.


Leadership & Strategic Partnership


  • Recruit, mentor, and build a high-accountability accounting team focused on continuous improvement.

  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Operations, and business unit leaders to inform strategic decisions.

  • Drive accounting automation, evaluate new financial technology, and lead ERP upgrades.

  • Execute M&A financial activities, including due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-merger integration.
