US Dock & Door, LLC (“USDD” or the” Company”) is a service-based platform operating companies that maintain, repair and install commercial loading dock equipment, entry systems, and residential garage doors.USDD operates as a portfolio company (or “Portco”) of private equity firm Soundcore Capital Partners (“SCP”).USDD has anchor locations in the Atlanta Metro area and expects to expand significantly over the next two to three years through organic growth and multiple acquisitions in the southern, eastern and midwestern United States.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (or “CFO”), the Corporate Controller (“CC”) will significantly contribute to USDD’s success by leading the financial control of the Company’s assets throughout the platform. The Corporate Controller will be a strong problem solver, critical thinker and leader of the accounting teams of USDD’s present and future locations. “Financial control” within this role encompass:

  • Leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) and USDD’s bank covenant requirements;
  • Driving the entire Company to a consistent five-day closing cycle, incorporating systems evolution and acquisition integration;
  • Ensuring all accounts in the Company’s balance sheets are reconciled in an agreed upon schedule and in accordance with GAAP and managing a timely annual audit processes, liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party consultants;
  • Working with the CFO and other steering committee members to complete in-process ERP implementations and integrations and expand its use throughout the Company’s operations and,
  • Partnering with the CFO in directing the Company’s cash management systems, to include the Accounts Receivable/Order-to-Cash and Accounts Payable/Procure-to-Pay cycles and Treasury functions.
  • Documenting financial processes to ensure accurate and uniform financials and implementing those processes across current businesses and future acquisitions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop the corporate-wide accounting team that fosters a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.
  • Perform all functions in a professional manner and timeframe adhering to the Company’s employee handbook, our bank’s covenant requirements and GAAP standards.
  • With the CFO, develop the platform-wide plan for the location and corporate level accounting and finance teams.
  • Develop detailed and consistent policies and procedures to be consistently adhered to in all of USDD’s locations and businesses.
  • Develop strategies and metrics around oversight of weekly working capital management, including maximizing cash flow, building a 13-week cash flow forecast process and internal reporting up to and including the Board of Directors.
  • Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-close accounting.
  • Work with the CFO to lead adoption of Adaptive Planning reporting & planning platform to coordinate data analytics from various data sources;

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Initially the Corporate Controller’s direct reports will be one-to-two location Controllers/financial leaders. The CC will work with the CFO to determine future organizational structure and needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-10 years of a mix of public and private accounting, including controller experience at a private equity portfolio company or similar experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a bachelor’s in a relevant field with a master’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • A CPA or CMA certification is preferable.
  • Much have solid mastery of mid-level excel functions (ie. Pivot tables, formatting detail, sorting, filtering and look-up tables)
  • Strong ERP implementation and management skills, preferably with Sage Intacct financial management software suite.Experience with a field service management software (Service Titan or BuildOps)is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with an Enterprise Performance Management System. Adaptive Planning is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively as a team and possess the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while delivering timely results.
  • Travel will vary, but is expected to be 25%-50% with more at the beginning of tenure and will have the flexibility to be remote the remaining time if no local office.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and how those can be applied in financial workflow processes to minimize processing and improve financial accuracy and timely reporting
