Job summary

Emergent Staffing is seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller for a direct-hire, onsite role in Carlsbad, California. The ideal candidate will lead accounting operations, own the financial close, and strengthen internal controls in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.

Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will oversee cost and inventory accounting, BOM, WIP, and consolidated statements, while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive automation and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Controller or Assistant Controller experience.
• Strong background in manufacturing accounting.
• Expertise in cost and inventory accounting in manufacturing.
• Experience with standard costing, BOM, WIP and variance analysis.
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to build scalable accounting operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Onsite work in Carlsbad, CA.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Own manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting, and inventory controls.
• Manage standard costing, variance analysis, BOM, and WIP accounting.
• Oversee general ledger activities and consolidated financial statements.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and audit-ready processes.
• Support external reporting and readiness for compliance initiatives.
• Partner cross-functionally with finance, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
• Lead accounting process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Manage and mentor accounting personnel to build a high-performing finance organization.
• Establish and refine accounting processes to support expanding manufacturing operations.
