Role Description

The Corporate Controller is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities for I'm Positive, Inc. This position manages the general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes, and prepares accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable standards and nonprofit regulations. The Corporate Controller will supervise accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management, ensuring strong internal controls and compliance with grant, donor, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include budgeting and forecasting, monitoring financial performance, coordinating annual audits and tax filings, and providing financial analysis to support leadership decision-making. The role collaborates with executive leadership, program managers, and external partners to align financial practices with the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in financial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements for nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, audit processes, and compliance with relevant regulations, including nonprofit reporting and tax requirements.
• Proficiency with accounting software and related financial systems; advanced skills in spreadsheet and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or social services organizations and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of supporting individuals affected by HIV or AIDS.
