Rather than serving solely as an administrative overseer, the ideal candidate is a strategic enabler who is able to implement and leverage modern ERP tools, Power BI financial analytics, and automated workflows to deliver real-time financial clarity and continuously improve the work of the department. Working closely with business leaders, the Corporate Controller establishes transparent reporting frameworks, ensures audited financial readiness, and fosters a culture of radical trust, accountability, and continuous improvement across our accounting team.

What You'll Do
Financial Leadership & Strategic Reporting
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring precise, GAAP-compliant financial statements and executive dashboards.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly re-forecasting models, incorporating historical trends, market data, and strategic assumptions.
  • Produce advanced financial analytics (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) that break down performance by profit center, department, and branch location to drive actionable decision-making.
  • Oversee treasury administration and cash flow forecasting to optimize working capital, cash balances, and capital allocation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for outside CPA firms and financial institutions, leading workpaper preparation for annual audits and tax return filings.
Process Optimization, Automation & Controls
  • Champion digital transformation within accounting by optimizing our ERP platform, building automated workflows, and eliminating manual data entry bottlenecks to constantly improve the efficiency of the work by the accounting team.
  • Establish, document, and maintain modern internal control structures that safeguard enterprise assets while streamlining operational speed and efficiency.
  • Partner with IT and department leaders to oversee fixed asset tracking, capital asset overhauls, and quarterly inventory audits.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, including multi-state sales tax reporting, 1099 processing, and regulatory filings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Enablement
  • Lead, mentor, and empower the accounting team by setting clear standards, fostering professional growth, and promoting a trust-first leadership style.
  • Serve as a collaborative partner to business leaders, providing transparent cost analysis and financial tools that help them manage their branch P&Ls effectively.
  • Eliminate departmental silos by actively supporting cross-functional initiatives across all departments and teams.
What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means that you:

  • Deliver accurate, timely, and insight-rich financial reports that business leaders can rely on to make fast, data-backed decisions.
  • Build a high-performing accounting team grounded in open communication, process efficiency, mutual trust, and clear ownership of outcomes.
  • Continuously reduce close-cycle timelines by implementing automated workflows and continuously improving accounting processes within the business.
  • Partner cross-functionally to replace adversarial corporate oversight with collaborative financial enablement and support.
Qualifications
Required
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: People leadership experience with 5+ years of progressive financial management, Corporate Controller, or Assistant Controller experience in a multi-location enterprise.
  • Enterprise Scale: Demonstrated experience overseeing accounting operations for a mid-size multi-location business model.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of US GAAP, internal control frameworks, complex financial modeling, and multi-state tax compliance.
  • Technology Aptitude: Advanced proficiency with enterprise ERP platforms, Salesforce, Power BI reporting, advanced Excel, and other digital workflow tools.
  • Leadership Style: High emotional intelligence, exceptional written/verbal communication skills, and a commitment to leading through trust, transparency, continuous improvement, coaching, and accountability.
