Job description

We are seeking an accomplished Corporate Controller to join a rapidly growing, private equity-backed software organization serving sophisticated enterprise customers.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this newly created leadership position will oversee the accounting organization and play a critical role in building the financial infrastructure required to support the company's next stage of growth. The business has achieved significant scale, maintains strong profitability, continues to grow rapidly, and is expanding its international footprint.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced accounting leader who brings strong technical accounting expertise, experience within a PE-backed software environment, and the ability to develop people, leverage technology, improve processes, and operate effectively with executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Own technical accounting, with significant responsibility for ASC 606 revenue recognition, including complex subscription arrangements and multi-year customer ramps.
  • Oversee global accounting and consolidation across multiple domestic and international entities.
  • Manage intercompany accounting, consolidations, and international reporting requirements.
  • Play a key leadership role in the implementation, adoption, and ongoing optimization of NetSuite.
  • Establish NetSuite best practices and help develop the finance team's ability to effectively utilize the ERP and its functionality.
  • Strengthen accounting processes, financial controls, and reporting infrastructure to support continued scale.
  • Identify and implement AI, automation, and finance technology opportunities that improve efficiency and scalability across the finance organization.
  • Support financial reporting requirements associated with private equity ownership and continued company growth.
  • Partner with external auditors, tax professionals, and international advisors.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the existing accounting organization.
  • Partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership on financial reporting, business initiatives, and strategic priorities.
  • Build scalable accounting infrastructure capable of supporting the company's next stage of growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful Controller-level or senior accounting leadership experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Significant hands-on ASC 606 and complex revenue recognition experience.
  • Experience working within a SaaS, software, or technology organization, ideally within a private equity-backed environment.
  • Strong NetSuite experience, including implementation, optimization, or significant hands-on system ownership.
  • Experience managing multinational and/or multi-entity accounting environments, including consolidations and intercompany accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing accounting professionals.
  • Experience building processes, controls, and accounting infrastructure within a rapidly scaling organization.
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership.
  • Interest in leveraging AI, automation, and emerging finance technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Big 4 or large national public accounting experience is a plus.
  • CPA is a plus but not required.
  • Aerospace & defense or government contracting accounting experience is a plus but not required.
Compensation & Opportunity
  • Base salary of $200,000–$225,000, depending on experience.
  • 20% target annual performance bonus.
  • Potential equity consideration for candidates bringing broader VP Finance-level capabilities.
  • Direct partnership with the CFO and significant exposure to executive leadership.
  • Opportunity to build and scale the accounting organization within a rapidly growing, PE-backed business.
  • High-visibility leadership role with significant influence over the evolution of the finance function.
  • Opportunity to join a highly defensible, growing software business investing in next-generation technology and AI capabilities.
Location

The company maintains its primary finance operations in Southern California, with a strong preference for candidates located in the Los Angeles/Orange County area who can work directly with the local team.
