What you will do:

The Corporate Communications Manager will provide experienced, hands‑on support to Tillamook’s Corporate Communications team. Serving as a communications partner to assigned business functions, this position will manage priority communications and events and collaborate with senior leadership to integrate communications strategy into initiative development and execution.

The manager will quickly learn established processes, build effective working relationships, and provide both strategic counsel and hands‑on execution across a variety of communication tools and channels. Responsibilities may shift during the assignment as business and team coverage needs evolve.

This role involves close collaboration with other members of the Corporate Communications team, as well as partnerships with leaders and team members across various functional departments at Tillamook and regular travel between TCCA facilities.

The position reports to the Director, Corporate Communications.

Here’s a day in the life:
  • Develop and execute communications plans and strategies that drive engagement and impact for priority programs and initiatives associated with assigned business functions.

  • Establish effective working relationships quickly and provide strategic communications counsel and execution support to leaders of assigned business functions, including facilitating meaningful, two‑way communication across levels of the company.

  • Proactively identify business needs and present creative communications ideas and recommendations using a wide‑variety of communication tools and channels.

  • Translate established company and functional narratives into clear, audience‑appropriate communications, partnering with other members of the Corporate Communications team to ensure coordinated delivery across channels, including the intranet, newsletters, LinkedIn and digital signage.

  • Develop, edit and distribute communications materials for assigned business functions, ensuring corporate messages reach relevant stakeholder audiences in a timely, transparent, accurate and consistent way.

  • Use audience insights and channel performance data to shape communications recommendations and evaluate the effectiveness across frontline, office, retail and remote employee audiences.

  • Support and execute TCCA’s established LinkedIn strategy, coordinating with key functions across the business as needed.

  • Project manage the development of TCCA’s Stewardship Report, including establishing and maintaining the project timeline, coordinating cross‑functional contributors, gathering and shaping report content, facilitating reviews and approvals, and partnering with internal and external resources to support production and delivery.

  • Lead or support company‑wide employee events and meetings during the assignment, including manufacturing plant summits, Town Halls and other priority events. Provide communications and event expertise to other meeting hosts as needed.

  • Manage assigned project and event budgets responsibly and in alignment with established Corporate Communications plans.

  • Travel regularly between TCCA facilities for events and meetings, relationship‑building and staying informed about new initiatives and projects.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 6+ years of professional experience in corporate communications or a related field, with demonstrated success developing and executing strategic communications plans, creating multi‑channel materials for varied audiences, advising leaders, and managing complex events or meetings for large groups.
  • Experience joining an established team, learning a business quickly, and independently advancing time‑sensitive work is strongly preferred.
SKILLS
  • Outstanding writing, editing, presentation and listening skills, with mastery of AP Style and ability to translate complex topics with clear, compelling messages for multiple audiences.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to craft proactive plans, using communication strategies to enable business success.
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships, rapport and credibility with senior‑level leaders in multiple departments across the organization.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast‑paced environment, quickly learn established processes, manage ambiguity and navigate changing priorities and assignments.
  • Demonstrated initiative and sound judgement, with the ability to anticipate needs, engage proactively and move work forward.
  • Ability to lead projects and present clear, well‑supported recommendations to leaders and cross‑functional partners.
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution best practices and the ability to solve problems creatively and constructively.
  • Thorough attention to detail, consistency, accuracy and follow‑through.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and deliver high‑quality work with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, FirstUp, Spectrio or goHappy is a plus, as is the ability to learn unfamiliar communications platforms quickly.
