Role: Corporate Communications Lead, Issues Management

Duties:
Develop systems for early warning signs and potential reputational risks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies for managing issues and crises.
Prepare strategic communication plans, key messaging, and responses for sensitive topics.
Serve as a key point of contact during crises, working with senior leadership to ensure timely, transparent, and effective communication.
Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s overarching communications strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Craft and refine key corporate messages, positioning the company as an industry leader and trusted brand.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including media, regulators, customers, and employees.
Handle media inquiries related to sensitive issues and provide spokesperson support when necessary.
Draft statements, media responses, and external communications that reflect the company's stance and position on corporate issues.
Proactively monitor industry trends, media coverage, and regulatory environments to identify emerging issues that could impact the organization.
Skills:
Proven experience in handling high-pressure communication situations, including crises
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments
Experience managing media relations and serving as a spokesperson
Ability to anticipate and identify potential issues before they become crises
Sound judgment and the ability to work quickly and decisively under pressure
A deep understanding of corporate reputation management and stakeholder engagement.
Ideally, previous experience with a financial, tech or publicly-traded company
Excellent communications, research, and writing skills
Attention to detail and strong follow-through
The ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

Education:
A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 8-10 years relevant work experience, either at a PR agency or on an in-house communications team
