Job summary

Veritiv is seeking a Corporate Account Executive to target, acquire and close large revenue opportunities within complex Corporate Accounts in the logistics space. A true hunter will build relationships with senior executives and decision makers, then hand off the account to Program Management and Corporate Account Managers after closing.

The role requires a strong emphasis on strategy, negotiation, and a results-driven approach, with a base salary in the $140k–$160k range plus bonus potential.

  • Partner with Corporate Account Manager to close opportunities and ensure smooth handoffs.
  • Develop proposals for key executives addressing critical needs.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities across the sales cycle.
  • Participate in business reviews and customer functions as needed.
  • Negotiate contracts in consultation with company legal.

Job Purpose

Once the opportunity is closed, they will hand off management of the relationship to our Corporate Account Manager and Program Management teams.

Job Purpose

Our Corporate Account Executive is responsible for targeting, acquiring and closing large revenue opportunities at complex Corporate Accounts in the Logistics space. This position requires a “hunter” approach as they will develop relationships with key executives and decision makers at customer accounts. Once the opportunity is closed, they will hand off management of the relationship to our Corporate Account Manager and Program Management teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work for and closely with Corporate Accounts Leadership to set strategy, determine target Vertical opportunities, and develop overall sales goals/quotas.
  • Collaborate with key decision makers to identify opportunities, develop ideas that deliver sales results and sell the Veritiv value proposition.
  • Communicate with clients and gathering information about a project’s goals, budgets, and outcomes.
  • Partner with the Corporate Account Manager to close opportunities and turn over all transactional activities ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Develop proposals targeted at key customer executives and other decision makers that address critical needs.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of potential Corporate Account opportunities at all points in the sales cycle.
  • Participate in business reviews and other customer functions as needed.
  • Consult with company legal representatives to develop contracts and agreements that protect company interests.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • 10 years proven business development and/or packaging experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • $140-160k base + bonus
Work Experience
  • 10-15 years of related job experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
  • Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.
  • Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.
  • Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
  • Strong planning and organization skills are required.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Physical Requirements
  • A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time.
  • The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
  • The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc..
