Job summary

Sonar in Austin, TX, is hiring a Corporate Accounting Manager to design scalable processes, strengthen controls, and guide multi-entity operations as the finance organization grows. You’ll help develop AI tooling and partner across functions to ensure financial accuracy.

In this role you will lead journal entries, reconciliations, and automation opportunities while mentoring the accounting team and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• AI experience designing, building, and deploying AI agents.
• Big 4 background with 7+ years of experience, preferably in software.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness, plus proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site, collaborate across teams, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar certification is preferred.

• Lead process improvement and transformation initiatives to strengthen reporting quality, efficiency, scalability, and controls.

• Assist with ongoing audits and liaise with external auditors.

Position description

We are hiring a Corporate Accounting Manager to help build and scale our growing finance organization. This role goes beyond traditional close and reporting, you will help design processes, strengthen controls, develop and implement AI tooling, and partner cross-functionally to ensure financial accuracy as our operations grow in complexity.

The Corporate Accounting Manager will play a critical role in day-to-day accounting operations while helping evolve systems, policies, and workflows that support multi-entity operations.

What you will do

Experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

• AI experience Direct experience designing, building, and deploying AI agents

• Big 4 foundation with industry depth: 7+ years of experience, preferably in software

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness, along with proficiency in accounting software and Excel, is desirable.

• Demonstrated ability to work on-site, collaborate across teams, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is expected.

• Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification is preferred.
