We are seeking a Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic team! This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with experience in full financial statement preparation and cash management, preferably in the real estate and construction industry.
Position Summary
The Corporate Accountant is responsible for month-end closes, financial statement preparation, journal entries, balance sheet analysis, and initiating wires within their region. You will also review property management financial statements, manage cash activity, and prepare monthly draws.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries and reconcile bank accounts.
- Complete balance sheet schedules and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Reconcile interest and loan balances to lender statements.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for all assigned entities.
- Manage cash activity, initiate wire transfers, and maintain accurate cash records.
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Participate in company-provided trainings including safety, non-discrimination, information systems, and harassment prevention.
- Ensure compliance with all company standards, health and safety rules, and applicable laws.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, including full financial statement preparation.
- Experience in real estate, with a focus on construction, preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and advanced accounting functions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform cash forecasting, analysis, and management.
- Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and goal-setting abilities.
- Commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality.
