Job description

Job Posting Title: CORP - Quality Assurance (QA) Tester I

Job Location: Remote

Oversees the overall quality of application software programs through testing, release management, and monitoring. Designs, develops, tests, maintains, and enhances application software testing programs for the retail energy industry. Responsible for analyzing application functionality and designing automated tests and frameworks to validate performance.

Must possess excellent communication skills to interact directly with customers, determine requirements, and deliver quality software that exceeds expectations.

  1. Deliver defect-free, well-designed, and well-tested software.
  2. Follow the team's Scrum development lifecycle practices.
  3. Work independently on design, development, and testing.
  4. Write automation scripts and implement software applications.
  5. Collaborate with team members to prioritize and reprioritize work as needed.
  6. Develop automation frameworks, evaluate toolsets, and suggest application-specific solutions.
  7. Troubleshoot automation software and finalize system procedures.
  8. Write clean, high-quality scripts to automate product functionality testing.
  9. Understand and write Python and Selenium WebDriver automation tests.
  10. Anticipate and resolve problems and roadblocks, eliminating those within control.
  11. Apply appropriate change control procedures for software enhancements.

Working Conditions:

  1. Teamwork environment in cubicles or open work areas.
  2. Duties performed during standard business hours, with overtime as necessary.
  3. Willingness to work longer hours during critical issue resolution.
  4. Attend meetings and respond to application issues at corporate sites in Philadelphia, PA, Princeton, NJ, and Houston, TX as needed.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 6 years of professional application development and operation experience in a production environment working on enterprise applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing automated testing frameworks with Selenium.

Additional Skills and Knowledge:

Understanding of software testing from unit to system to integration testing, with a strong desire for test automation. Proficiency in Python development. Knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server. Experience with Selenium WebDriver, API testing, SQL, PostgreSQL, Django, and testing or developing with Python, Django, .NET, Ruby, or PHP. Familiarity with version control software, preferably Git. Experience with AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, and SQS is a plus.
