UPS’s Engineering Development Program (EDP) in Livonia Michigan offers a four-month, hands-on training track for highly qualified Industrial Engineers. The program combines classroom learning, real-world applications in UPS Operations, and mentorship to build a robust professional network.

Upon completion, graduates transition to an IE Supervisor role, leading teams, driving process improvements, and supporting operational excellence within UPS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in one of the preferred majors (Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Engineering & Technology Management, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, Automation Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management/Research, Logistics).
• Must have a valid Driver’s License by start date of employment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently across business units.

Job Description

The Engineering Development Program (EDP) at UPS is a structured, four-month training program designed for highly qualified Industrial Engineers. The program offers an immersive, hands‑on experience with classroom learning and real-world applications in the heart of UPS Operations. In addition, participants will benefit from self‑paced computer‑based training and structured mentorship, offering a robust professional network. This position leads the planning and execution of large project implementations and training initiatives.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be eligible to transition into an Industrial Engineering (IE) Supervisor role, where they will apply their training to lead teams, drive process improvements, and support operational excellence.
