Job description

Set the vision, priorities, and operating rhythm for Corporate Category Advisory Services
Lead, coach, and develop Corporate Category Managers
Build a talent pipeline and prepare the team for future category advisory needs
Drive team engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement
Modernize capabilities in assortment optimization, shelving leadership, AI, and advanced analytics
Serve as a trusted category thought partner to business unit and Sales leadership
Establish and scale category advisory frameworks and best practices
Develop objective, insight-led category points of view identifying growth opportunities, risks, and activation priorities
Integrate data sources including Circana, Scintilla, Numerator, Kantar, StoreSight, and Mintel into compelling narratives
Influence assortment, shelving, merchandising, innovation, distribution, and retailer activation decisions
Partner with business unit, Sales, Shopper Insights, and cross-functional leaders
Shape category and marketplace research and identify strategic insights and growth opportunities
Monitor emerging trends, tools, and advisory practices
Build cross-functional relationships and educate business partners
Champion innovative category storytelling, retailer influence, and insight activation

Requirements

7+ years of experience in category management, category advisory, category insights, category development, business intelligence, or related commercial roles, preferably within consumer goods or retail
Demonstrated experience leading teams, developing talent, and building organizational capability
Strong business acumen and ability to translate insights into enterprise, business unit, customer, and category strategies
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and business direction as a strategic partner
Expertise with Excel, Power BI, Copilot, advanced prompt analysis, agent creation, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities
Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, customer segmentation, shopper understanding, and category development

Core Competencies
