Job summary

Advancing Sight Network is seeking a Full Time Donor Recovery Specialist in Metairie, LA to support donor tissue recovery operations. The role involves coordinating recovery teams, ensuring strict adherence to SOPs, and maintaining documentation for FDA and EBAA compliance.

Evening or weekend shifts may be required based on organizational needs. The candidate should have at least two years of related experience and an associate's degree.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience preferred in a related field.
• Associate's degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to donor notifications and plan for timely recoveries.
• Schedule and deploy recovery teams, including self, as directed by the Recovery Team Lead.
• Conduct sterile surgical recovery of corneal tissue using in-situ and enucleation techniques.
• Draw and qualify blood samples for serological testing.
• Perform donor physical assessments and review medical records to determine eligibility.
• Confirm consent documentation and Donor Risk Assessment information.
• Label and package tissue and specimens per SOPs for transport to processing labs and consignees.
• Ship donor blood samples to reference laboratories.
• Maintain compliance with FDA, EBAA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
