Job summary

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology.
  • Fellowship training in Cornea and External Disease preferred.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of Minnesota.
  • Proven experience performing corneal surgeries and managing complex corneal conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and diagnosis of corneal and external eye diseases.
  • Conduct corneal surgeries such as penetrating keratoplasty and other advanced corneal procedures.
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing corneal surgery.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmology team and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
  • Stay current with advancements in corneal surgery techniques and technologies.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, options, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cornea Surgeon to join our medical team in Bloomington, MN. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating corneal diseases and performing corneal surgeries, including corneal transplants and refractive procedures. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and advancing clinical outcomes through innovative surgical techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and diagnosis of corneal and external eye diseases.
  • Conduct corneal surgeries such as penetrating keratoplasty, lamellar keratoplasty, and other advanced corneal procedures.
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing corneal surgery.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmology team members and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Stay current with advancements in corneal surgery techniques and technologies.
  • Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatment options, and surgical procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
