Core Production Operator - Winder - 3rd Shift

Reporting To

Production Supervisor

Role and Responsibilities
  1. Assemble machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to provided instructions.
  2. Read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, and build to those specifications.
  3. Operate various machines and hand tools to complete assigned tasks.
  4. Maintain logs, records, and reports related to production, machine maintenance, and product quality.
  5. Perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment and conveyors.
  6. Inventory tools, parts, and supplies; coordinate with materials handlers for replenishments.
  7. Conduct periodic quality checks on products, resolve issues, and notify supervisors of problems.
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  9. Overtime is required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge and use of tools such as tape measures, screwdrivers, and battery-operated tools.
  • Understanding of hardware components—nuts, bolts, screws, etc.
  • Knowledge of 5S principles—sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain.
  • Use of necessary PPE.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, connection diagrams, bill of materials, and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to operate cranes or other lifting devices as needed.
  • Proficiency with hand tools.
  • Ability to safely use ladders.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to follow simple instructions with common sense.
  • Basic computer skills for parts lookup and documentation.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
