Ford Motor Company seeks a Core Tooling Engineer to support Powertrain machining across engines, transmissions, gears and E-motor components. You will create and maintain cutting tool standards, resolve in-plant tooling issues, and support new model programs as the tooling expert for new processes.
The role requires deep experience with Tool Cost Model, tool crib processes and equipment, and the ability to lead cost studies, develop specifications, and implement standard tool management systems.
Core Tooling Engineer is a dynamic role supporting all facets of Powertrain machining: Engine, Transmission, Gears and E-motor components. In this role you will be responsible for creating and maintaining cutting tool standards, resolving current model tooling/process in-plant problems and supporting new model programs as tooling expert for new processes.
BSc, Engineering discipline or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Professional experience within the Automotive Manufacturing industry, specifically focused on metal cutting/ machining/processing of Powertrain components.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to concisely share problem statements, actions and results.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively in a diverse team-oriented environment.
Ability to thrive in high-pressure manufacturing environments and deliver results within tight timing constraints.
Be self-motivated and capable of managing complex tasks with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to travel up to 50%.

This position is a salary grade 7-8 and ranges from $86,600-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
