Job summary

Denison Industries, Inc. in Denison, TX is seeking a Core Room Operator for 1st and 2nd shifts to produce cores for molds. The role focuses on operating the core-making machine, setting up patterns, and ensuring correct programs and full chemical containers.

You will shape sand cores, remove finished cores, monitor cycles, and report production quantities. Safety, quality compliance, 5S and EMS rules are essential to daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; foundry/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Math, computer and communication skills are necessary.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Shape sand cores used in molds, using air-set sand mixer and/or shell core blower.
• Remove cores from core boxes and place them into storage boxes or onto racks for transport to molding area.
• Select the appropriate core box from work order and set-up the machine, making all necessary operation adjustments.
• Keep core boxes clean and report any excessive wear or damage to supervisor.
• Clean, repair and assemble finished cores per instructions.
• Report production quantities and times for each work order.
• Responsible for ensuring that quality systems function effectively and products meet customer requirements.
• Responsible for following safety and environmental rules and regulations.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Use a forklift to position an empty core box in front of the machine.
• Start each automatic cycle; when the cycle is complete the machine operator will remove the cores and place them in the core box.
• Monitor each cycle and inspect the cores as they are made, making any adjustments that are necessary.
• Report any undue conditions to the department foreman.
• Perform Safety / 5S duties.
• Conform to the Company's Environmental Management System (EMS) and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Must maintain a Good Attendance Record.
• Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned.
