Job summary

Magellan Aerospace, Glendale specializes in the manufacturing of precision magnesium and aluminum sand castings. We have an exciting opportunity for a CoreRoom - Roper that will operate hoist and carts used in core making processes.

As part of our team you will scan in and out of jobs, maintain safety, inspect materials, and keep accurate records while supporting quality workmanship and on-time production. You will learn to assemble patterns, manage materials inventory, and follow daily

Qualifications

• Experience in foundry manufacturing environment preferred.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual handling.
• On-the-job training leading to position certification.

Responsibilities

• Accurate scanning in and out of jobs and proper reporting of processed quantities.
• Wear appropriate safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times.
• Understand customer requirements, internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, and impact on quality.
• Review and inspect all material used; build self-inspection into every item.
• Complete, date and sign-off on all routing information.
• Operate hoist and carts; demonstrate safe operation in core making processes.
• Maintain inventory and notify supervisor of material needs.
• Retrieve, inspect, clean and store patterns and boxes used.
• Understand assembly of materials such as chills and locators; know sands and binder.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
