Job summary

CompuNet Clinical Laboratories is seeking a Specimen Processor Technician Level 3 for the Core Lab in Moraine, OH. This full-time evening shift role focuses on referral testing and shipping, working with vendors to resolve issues and assisting with training materials.

You will partner with the Referral Testing Specialist and Training Coordinator to educate the team, execute daily referral testing duties, and ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory policies.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer service skills with a track record of positive interactions
• Completion of Level III training with 1-3 years’ processing experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; proven organizational and leadership abilities
• Ability to follow policies and procedures and handle safety requirements in a laboratory setting
• Corrective action history can limit future duties as coordinator per policy

Responsibilities

• Perform daily referral testing duties.
• Process shipping tasks; complete lost specimen forms as needed.
• Collaborate with Processing leadership to set best practices for specimen handling for send-out testing.
• Provide monthly feedback on TNPs to departmental management.
• Act as primary resource for Shipping operations.
• Assist in writing procedures and policies for Referral Testing and Shipping.
• Create educational tools for Training team members on Shipping.
• Perform all functions of Specimen Processor Technician 3.
• Adhere to all departmental, company and regulatory policies and procedures.

Full-Time Evening Shift (11:30 AM-8:00 PM)

Position Summary:

Under the direction of departmental leadership, focus on Referral Testing and Shipping for best practices. Work with vendors to resolve issues. Assist with creation of educational materials to train staff on the shipping and Referral testing. Partner with Referral Testing Specialist and Training Coordinator to educate team.Perform duties of Specimen Processor Technician Level 3.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily Referral testing duties.
• Work Shipping pending. Fill out lost specimen forms and TNP specimens as needed.
• Partner with Processing leadership to identify best practices for handling specimens for send out testing.
• Provide monthly feedback regarding TNPs to departmental management.
• Act as primary resource for Shipping.
• Assist with writing procedures and policies for Referral Testing and Shipping.
• Create educational tools for training team members on Shipping. Partner with Referral testing Specialist and Training Coordinator to educate team.
• Perform all functions of Specimen Processor Technician 3.
• Comply with all departmental, company and regulatory policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills with documented history of positive interactions with co-workers and management.
• Completion of Level III training and 1-3 years’ experience in Processing. Must have demonstrated proficiency in all department functions.
• Good oral and written communication skills and proven organizational and leadership abilities.
• Corrective action that includes a final warning will make incumbent ineligible for further duties as coordinator.

Physical & Safety Demands:

• Consistent integrity and accuracy in specimen handling and processing.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with people.
• Ability to organize and complete work in efficient and timely manner.
• Possible exposure to biological, chemical and/or radioactive hazards.
• Bending and twisting.
• Ability to lift 10-50lbs.
• Will have exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals.
• Be familiar with and adhere to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the Company.
• Comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other biohazard areas.
• Complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
• Anticipate safety hazards, act upon unsafe situations and promote safety awareness.
