Job summary

Framatome in Lynchburg, Virginia seeks engineers to perform advanced nuclear engineering tasks, including design, development, and analysis of core designs for PWR/BWR. You will work autonomously on a range of assignments, ensuring compliance with standards and safety.

Strong coding in FORTRAN, C/C++, or Python is expected, along with experience in nuclear analysis tools and Linux environments. Minimum 3 years of related experience and a Bachelor’s in Engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in pressurized water reactor (PWR) or boiling water reactor (BWR) core design and/or nuclear analysis experience.
• Experience with computer model development and application (e.g., ANC, SCALE, CASMO, SIMULATE, or other nuclear industry analysis code).
• Familiarity with Linux operating environments.
• Programming languages: FORTRAN, C/C++, or PYTHON.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-standard engineering assignments in design, development, analysis, testing, and field resolution.
• Receives minimal instruction and works autonomously on most assignments.
• Ensures compliance with government regulations and engineering standards.
• Evaluates and applies technical techniques for new tasks.
• Develops knowledge of processes and customers.
• Participates in special projects and process improvements.
• Maintains a safety mindset.
