Job summary

Core Physicians, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking an Medical Assistant to support clinical teams across the Seacoast region. You will perform pre-visit work, take vital signs, assist providers, and help keep exam rooms stocked and ready.

The role emphasizes vaccines administration, patient communication via the portal, scheduling, and front-to-back care coordination. A CMA/RMA/CCMA certification and BLS are required or obtained within six months; the workweek is Monday through Friday

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CMA/RMA/CCMA certification/registration or completion of training program with testing.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties: pre-visit work, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and assist providers.
• Sterilize instruments and prepare exam rooms.
• Respond to patient portal messages on the same day.
• Administer vaccines and manage prescriptions as directed by the provider.
• Greet, check-in/check-out patients and assist with scheduling and chart management.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities

1. Perform clinical duties such as pre‑visit work, obtaining vital signs, providing medication reconciliation, and assistingproviderswithexaminations and/or procedures.
   2.Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization as required. Ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
   3.Following standard work procedures and messaging policy, respond to the patient phone portal message on the sameday.
   4.Use standing protocols to complete pre‑visit work, close gaps in care, administrate vaccines, and completeprescription refills.
   5.May schedule pre‑admission and diagnostic testing and place follow‑up calls topatients after surgery.
   6.May perform any of the following daily administrative duties of the practice: greeting/check‑in/check‑out, schedulingpatients, answering telephones, taking messages, organizing patient charts, filing, pulling and copying patientrecords, collection of co‑pays and patient balances, post‑payment and adjustment transactions, and balance dailyjournal.
   7.Maintains and adheres to established CorePhysicians policies and procedures and federal regulations, including, patientconfidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards; responsible for participating inthe daily huddle and completing any actions required and working as a member of the care team to ensure propercommunication between all team members.
   8.In some practices, the MA may perform scribing duties; accompany the provider into the patient examination room andaccurately and efficiently document the encounter; order any labs, make referrals, and order prescriptions that havebeen recommended by the provider.
   9.Responsible for monitoring care team metrics to evaluate improvement metrics and outcome.
   10.Provides coverage for other Core Offices as needed, based on priorities, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School or GED
• For hires after 11/28/2011: CMA/RMA/CCMA certification/registration required or within 6 months of hire OR credentialed through a formal training program that includes testing of knowledge
• BLS within 6 months of hire

Pay Range

$20.00 - $29.49

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geographyof work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
