Base pay range

$18.08/hr - $20.82/hr

Frazer and Jones are looking to add Core Machine Operators to our foundry operations to support the business. This role works independently to support the daily functions for foundry production. Under the direction of the foundry foreman and/or manager, the core machine operator carries out repetitive operations creating and adjusting cores for the specific manufactured goods.

Job Essential Functions

• Interprets and adjusts core machine pressure, temperature, and timer indicators and makes adjustments to specified settings.
• Makes minor repairs and adjustments, using simple measuring instruments such as a straight edge, level, measuring tape, rulers, or calipers for core boxes.
• Sets up and runs various core machines, changes core boxes, completes core tryouts, fills core trays, and cleans cores.
• Operates a forklift to transport patterns and core machine materials throughout the plant.
• Drills, taps, reams, and coins castings throughout the shift.
• Evaluates thread and ream inspection during process.
• Disposes of scrap castings at the workstation and performs housekeeping tasks such as cleaning area and core boxes.
• Manually feeds materials through punch presses, drilling, or tapping machines.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the foreman and/or manager.

Education

High school diploma or GED, or the ability to understand fundamental English. Must be able to perform basic mathematical operations such as multiplication, division, and converting fractions to whole numbers or decimals.

Working Hours and Conditions

• 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
• Training on 1st Shift (Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM) during the initial weeks.
• 8-hour shifts, with possible overtime or additional shifts.
• In-person work in a foundry setting, with exposure to environmental conditions such as varying temperatures, dust, and sand.

Pay and Benefits

• $18.08 - $20.82 per hour.
• Additional $0.45/hour shift differential for 2nd Shift.
• Overtime after 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week.
