Job summary

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operational functions and QA oversight for Chemistry and Hematology sections
• Provide technical bench work as needed to support workload demands
• Establish and maintain laboratory records, reports, statistics, logs, and files per regulatory and accreditation agencies
• Maintain oversight of Quality Control, Linearities, department QA forms, QAP, Quality Metrics and Quality Reports
• Participate in departmental performance improvement, quality control, safety, environmental and infection control programs

Job Summary and Qualifications

• You will supervise a variety of day-to-day operational functions and the Quality Assurance oversight for the Chemistry and Hematology sections
• This position provides technical bench work as needed to support workload demands
• You will establish and maintain laboratory records, reports, statistics, logs, and files consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation agencies (e.g. CAP, DHS, TJC, FDA, CLIA, HCFA and OIG Laboratory Compliance)
• You will maintain oversight of Quality Control, Linearities, department QA forms, QAP, Quality Metrics and Quality Reports
• You will understand and actively participate in the departmental performance improvement, quality control, safety, environmental and infection control programs

What qualifications you will need:

• Active Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in the State of California
• Bachelor’s Degree is required
• Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory principles, practices, and techniques
• Working knowledge of laboratory information systems
• Working knowledge of quality assurance/ performance improvement programs
• Minimum of 3 years of hospital laboratory experience in General Laboratory testing including methodological details and quality control
