Northern Arizona University’s Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training seeks visionary educators to join our residential Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program on the Flagstaff Mountain campus and on the Phoenix Bioscience Core campus. As a pioneer in competency and entrustment-based education, NAU’s DPT program stands at the forefront of redefining physical therapy pedagogy. Our innovative model prepares graduates to excel in dynamic healthcare environments. Our program expansion has opened opportunities for both clinical and tenure track positions on each campus.
Our DPT program represents a paradigm shift in physical therapy education. Designed around a fully implemented competency and entrustment-based curriculum, the program emphasizes using immersive clinical scenarios to integrate musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiopulmonary care to prepare graduates for evolving practice models. The DPT program thrives on a culture of mutual support and intellectual curiosity.

We seek candidates who embody the following attributes:
Clinical expertise: The successful candidate will demonstrate teaching excellence and scholarly contributions in one or more of the following areas: musculoskeletal practice, neuromuscular practice, cardiopulmonary practice, and foundational sciences of physical therapy practice. This is a unique opportunity for an innovative, collaborative clinical scholar and academician to significantly contribute to the development of a physical therapy educational model reflective of emerging and predicted trends.
