Job summary

LifeLong Medical Care in Richmond, CA invites applications for a Core Faculty member to join the Family Medicine Residency Program at the William Jenkins Health Center. The role supports supervising residents, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care, with a focus on full-scope outpatient family medicine and scholarly activity.

Must hold ABFM certification and a California medical license, and commit to 24 hours/week for residency training, with opportunities for sign-on bonus and loan

Qualifications

  • ABFM Certification current and valid.
  • California medical license current and active.
  • Clinically active in direct patient care across ages including maternal–child health.
  • Dedicated to an average of 24 hours per week for residency training.
  • Strong interest in residency education and workforce development.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, cost-effective, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Family Medicine residents in the residency/faculty family medicine clinic, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care.
  • Respect resident work hours, monitor fatigue and sleep deprivation.
  • Serve as a role model in professionalism, self-care, team-based community health care, lifelong learning, and full-scope outpatient family medicine practice.
  • Evaluate residents using competency-based/milestone evaluations, direct observation, and other relevant methods.
  • Supervise resident QA/QI and research activities as required.
  • Mentor residents on career and educational goals and overall well-being.
  • Serve on relevant residency program committees as required by ACGME.
  • Participate in and coordinate didactics (journal clubs, lectures, interdisciplinary conferences, workshops).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to scholarly work, both independently and with residents.
  • Attend at least one national meeting such as the AAFP Chief Resident Workshop, STFM, or related meetings.
  • Complete the annual ACGME survey.
  • Provide full-scope primary care clinical work in the faculty/resident clinic for an average of 40% of time (exact allocation to be determined by the Program Director).

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $231,152 - $252,618 per year, based on years since completion of residency.
