Job summary

Christ Community Health Services in Memphis, TN invites applications for Core Faculty in the Family Medicine Residency Program at Frayser Health Center. This full-time role combines clinical teaching, mentorship, and resident advisory duties.

You will design Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), contribute to didactic education, supervise residents, and help shape the residency curriculum as part of an ACGME-accredited program.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Family Medicine.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Tennessee and DEA registration.
• Experience in independent, full-spectrum family medicine practice preferred.
• Experience teaching and mentoring medical students or residents preferred.
• Comfortable providing care and teaching residents in inpatient and outpatient settings within a Christian clinic context.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical supervision and teaching to residents during rotations in family medicine (inpatient and outpatient).
• Participate in professional development courses and workshops.
• Foster a learning-friendly environment and assist residents in meeting program requirements and milestones.
• Conduct regular evaluations of residents' clinical skills, knowledge, and professionalism.
• Perform, supervise, and teach required medical procedures to residents.
• Collaborate to develop, review, and update the residency curriculum.
• Incorporate evidence-based medicine and current guidelines into the curriculum.
• Lead didactic sessions, workshops, case discussions, M&M, and journal clubs for residents.
• Mentor residents on career development and personal growth.
• Assess residents' progress toward core competencies and design ILPs.
• Encourage scholarly activity and resident involvement in research and quality improvement.
• Work with faculty and administrators on program evaluation.

About the Role

The Core Faculty member plays a pivotal role in CCHS's ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program at our Frayser Health Center. This full-time position combines direct clinical teaching and mentorship with service as a Resident Advisor, including active participation in designing and implementing residents' Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and the residency's didactic education.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct clinical supervision and teaching to residents during their rotations in family medicine, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in professional development courses and workshops.
• Foster an environment conducive to learning, assisting residents in meeting all program requirements and milestones.
• Conduct regular, timely evaluations of residents' clinical skills, knowledge, and professionalism.
• Perform, supervise, and teach required medical procedures to residents.
• Collaborate with the Program Director and other faculty members to develop, review, and update the residency curriculum.
• Incorporate evidence-based medicine, current guidelines, and best practices into the educational curriculum.
• Organize and lead didactic sessions, workshops, case-based discussions, M&M, and journal club sessions for residents.
• Act as a mentor and advisor to residents, providing guidance on career development, academic pursuits, and personal growth.
• Assess residents' progress toward the six core competencies, and meet quarterly with residents to design and refine their Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
• Participate in scholarly activity — clinical research, quality improvement projects, case reports/journal articles, or conference presentations — and support resident involvement in the same.
• Work collaboratively with faculty, medical staff, and administrators, and serve on the Program Evaluation Committee and/or Clinical Competency Committee.
• Complete the Annual ACGME Faculty Survey.
