Overall Purpose of the Job

The Planning & Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing production planning, manufacturing operations, and supply chain coordination for Expandables products including straddles, accessories and running tools. This role ensures eƯicient production schedules, optimal resource allocation, and adherence to quality and safety standards, working closely with Engineering teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Planning & Manufacturing Manager collaborates with the Regions to get timely inputs on product demand forecast. They will lead monthly Sales & Operations Planning meetings with the Regions to review & adjust Sales Forecast, provide update on production throughputs vs. required delivery dates, and align on business priorities. Eventually, the Planning & Manufacturing Manager will support the development of additional capabilities outside of the United States.

Key Activities and Accountabilities

Production Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and implement production schedules for pipe, straddles, accessories and running tools to meet customer demands and inventory targets.
  • Coordinate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure raw material availability and timely order fulfilment.
  • Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce lead times.

Manufacturing Operations:

  • Oversee daily manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, both at the manufacturing hub and Suppliers
  • Manage workforce allocation, equipment utilization, and workflow optimization.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, downtime, and yield rates. Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials (e.g., steel, coatings, and other inputs).
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance cost efficiency with production needs.
  • Implement demand forecasting techniques to improve supply chain responsiveness.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure all products meet industry the Product Line standards and customer specifications.
  • Work with quality assurance teams and Engineering to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address production issues.

Process Improvement & Cost Optimization:

  • Identify and implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Drive cost reduction strategies renegotiating existing rates while developing new suppliers.

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing and production planning, preferably in the tubulars industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ISO, and ASTM.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in oil & gas, steel, or heavy manufacturing industries.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and performance tracking tools.
  • Project management experience, including process optimization projects.
  • Manufacturing Hub and office setting.
  • Requires occasional travel to suppliers and Regions
