Job summary

AOE International is seeking an experienced instructor to deliver CEJA Core Competencies and essential employability and clean energy basics to a new cohort each month. The role covers OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR/AED, and career exploration with employers, with a focus on inclusive, hands-on learning in a workforce development setting.

You will assess participants, support them to choose a Career Pathway, and coordinate with case managers and instructors to ensure pathway success.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience teaching or training adults in workforce readiness or education.
• Working knowledge of construction or clean energy workplaces and safety practices.
• Strong facilitation skills and experience with learners facing barriers to employment.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and digital collaboration tools.
• Bachelor's degree in education, workforce development or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Core Competencies modules through hands-on activities in clean energy workplaces.
• Teach OSHA 10-Hour Construction and First Aid/CPR/AED, and document required records.
• Instruct digital skills in computer labs and basic tools/electricity in training labs.
• Assess participants during and after training; record attendance and results.
• Identify struggling participants, re-teach, re-assess and notify the case manager.
• Host employer panels, job site visits and mock interviews with staff.
• Create an inclusive classroom that builds on participants' knowledge and strengths.
• Help participants confirm a Career Pathway and pass plans to relevant instructors.

Position summary

Teach the CEJA Core Competencies to a new cohort every month: 100 hours of essential employability skills, essential workplace skills and clean energy basics, including OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR/AED, plus 10 hours of career exploration with employers. The instructor sets the tone for the whole program and prepares participants to succeed in pathway training.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Deliver the Core Competencies modules through hands-on, scenario-based activities set in clean energy workplaces.
• Teach the OSHA 10-Hour Construction course and First Aid/CPR/AED, and complete the records each credential requires.
• Teach digital skills in the computer lab, and basic tool use and foundational electricity in the training lab.
• Assess each participant during and at the end of training, using varied methods, and record attendance and results.
• Identify participants who are struggling, re-teach and re-assess the specific component, and notify the case manager.
• Host employer panels, job site visits and mock interviews with business engagement staff.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom that builds on participants' existing knowledge and strengths.
• Help each participant confirm a Career Pathway choice and pass the plan to the case manager and pathway instructors.
