  • Strong knowledge of ITIL practices, change management, and audit frameworks.
  • Experience mentoring or leading teams.

Job Description

Core Application Systems Officer Hybrid position Pay Range: $66,971 - $98,261

The Core Application Systems Officer is the technical authority responsible for the stability, security, and strategic evolution of the organization’s core financial application. This role oversees complex system integrations, leads major upgrade initiatives, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners with business leaders to optimize financial operations. The senior administrator acts as an escalation point for critical issues, collaborates with Technology and Training, and drives continuous improvement across the financial systems ecosystem.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Ownership
  • Serve as the primary technical owner for the core banking applications and financial reporting systems.
  • Lead planning and execution of system roadmaps, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cross functional teams.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, security, and user experience.
Advanced Application Administration
  • Oversee complex configuration, workflow design, and system optimization aligned with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage high impact incidents, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation strategies.
  • Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and capacity planning for mission critical financial systems.
Security, Risk, & Compliance
  • Own application level security, including access governance, privileged access controls, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with FFIEC, GLBA, SOX, PCI DSS, and other financial regulatory frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology to implement controls, monitor vulnerabilities, and support incident response.
  • Prepare and deliver audit documentation, system evidence, and compliance reporting.
Integration & Data Architecture
  • Lead integration design and troubleshooting across core systems, third party financial services, APIs, middleware, and data warehouses.
  • Oversee data integrity, reconciliation processes, and financial data governance.
  • Collaborate with data owners to optimize data flows and reporting accuracy.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the senior technical liaison with financial software vendors, hosting providers, and service partners.
  • Manage vendor escalations, SLAs, and long term support strategies.
  • Work closely with finance, operations, risk, compliance, and executive leadership to translate business needs into system capabilities.
Documentation & Process Improvement
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, integrations, and change controls.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for application administration, testing, and deployment.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
