The Aquaculture Associate at The Nature Conservancy’s Coral Innovation Hub on St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, supports building projects and staff with coral protection, restoration, and monitoring. Maintains coral systems, conducts seawater tests, and assists with plumbing and power tool tasks.

Logs health data and supports field restoration activities. Ideal candidates have saltwater aquariums experience, basic chemistry knowledge, and are willing to work flexible hours; valid driver's license

Qualifikationen

• BA/BS degree in a science-related field and 1 year of aquaculture or natural sciences experience.
• Strong organizational, communication and time-management skills.
• Experience operating and repairing various equipment and machinery.
• Experience with saltwater aquariums or coral husbandry.
• Basic knowledge of seawater chemistry and water parameter testing.
• Knowledge of coral ecology and Caribbean coral species.
• Experience maintaining coral life support systems and related tasks.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours (weekends/holidays).
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.

Aufgaben

• Maintain coral aquaculture systems and perform routine seawater testing.
• Collaborate with aquaculture team on restoration tasks and propagation.
• Keep logs of system parameters, coral health, and maintenance; assist with manuals and labor tasks.
