Get hooked on our fresh seafood department at Uncle Giuseppe's! Our East Meadow store is actively seeking a FT Seafood Clerk to join its seafood team. Uncle Giuseppe's Gourmet Marketplace offers freshly delivered seafood, including a vast array of choices such as various fish, crab, lobsters, clams, oysters, scallops, and more. Our Seafood Chefs prepare gourmet seafood dishes for customers to grab and go for a home-cooked gourmet meal.

Our Seafood clerks display seafood products and related items in a careful, clean, neat, and efficient manner, ensuring all products are fresh, rotated, and well-stocked. They make recommendations on seafood purchases and address customer questions and concerns.

Responsibilities

1. Display counters and cases are arranged, stocked, and replenished with ice and seafood products.
2. Check and verify the freshness of seafood in live tanks; remove spoiled products and rotate merchandise.
3. Assist customers with seafood product information, prices, and service; suggest selections.
4. Prepare special seafood fillets and cuts upon customer request.
5. Weigh, price, and package customer selections using scales, label, and wrapping machines.
6. Process merchandise according to guidelines and sanitation standards.
7. Maintain displays iced according to policy and change ice as scheduled.
8. Receive and unload seafood deliveries, store products appropriately, and organize inventory.
9. Monitor coolers, display cases, and tanks for proper temperature to ensure quality.
10. Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free department; report hazards to management.
11. Follow safe food handling practices and operate seafood equipment safely and properly.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
