Job Description
Your Mission:
The Springs Resort and Spa is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all equipment and utensils are ready for use. Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, and equipment.
- Properly dispose of waste and recycling materials.
Stock & Supply Management:
- Unload and store kitchen deliveries efficiently.
- Ensure kitchen supplies, such as cleaning products and dishware, are stocked.
- Organize and maintain storage areas for easy access.
Basic Food Preparation:
- Assist chefs with simple tasks like peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Ensure ingredients are properly stored and labeled according to safety guidelines.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations at all times.
- Report any maintenance issues or health hazards to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to guidelines.
Requirements:
- Previous experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene (training may be provided).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Good physical stamina, ability to stand long hours and lift heavy items.
Work Environment:
- Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Work is primarily in a kitchen setting, often in hot and humid conditions.
