Position Title: Pre-Kindergarten (4-Year-Old Class) Teacher Assistant
Location: Saint Ann School, Lawrenceville, NJ

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to support our Pre-K 4-year-old classroom for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the lead teacher to create a stimulating and supportive environment that promotes the intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual development of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and daily activities that align with the school's curriculum and Catholic values.
  • Interact with children individually and in groups to encourage learning and social development.
  • Monitor students during classroom activities, meals, recess, and nap times to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and set up learning centers as directed by the lead teacher.
  • Observe and document students' progress and behavior, providing feedback to the lead teacher and parents as appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Support the incorporation of Catholic teachings and values into daily interactions and activities.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with parents, staff, and administration.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred; a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience working with young children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to uphold and model Catholic values and teachings.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with the lead teacher and other staff members.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Successful completion of fingerprinting, background checks, and VIRTUS certification as required by the Diocese of Trenton.
