Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted NP/APRN license in the state of practice.
  • 2+ years of NP experience in nephrology preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to independently evaluate complex renal conditions and detect changes in patient status.
  • Experience in a long-term care, dialysis, hospital, or outpatient nephrology setting.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic kidney disease.
  • Provide ongoing management for CKD, ESRD, and related complications.
  • Conduct nephrology-focused assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Monitor progression of CKD and adjust care as needed.
  • Review renal laboratory and diagnostic results.
  • Identify and manage CKD/ESRD complications.
  • Monitor fluid status, edema, electrolyte abnormalities, and blood pressure related to renal disease.
  • Review medications for renal dosing and nephrotoxicity risk.
  • Assist with evaluation of renal hypertension and related conditions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and nephrology discussions.
  • Communicate significant renal function changes to the nephrologist and team.

Nephrology Nurse Practitioner
About the Position

MDB Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nephrology Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team. The Nurse Practitioner will provide specialized evaluation, management, and ongoing care for patients with kidney disease and related conditions.

The ideal candidate will have experience caring for patients with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, hypertension, electrolyte abnormalities, and other renal conditions. This provider will work closely with nephrologists, dialysis teams, nursing staff, facility staff, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, high-quality renal care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic kidney disease.
  • Provide ongoing management of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and renal-related complications .
  • Perform comprehensive nephrology-focused assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor and manage progression of chronic kidney disease.
  • Review and interpret renal-related laboratory and diagnostic results
  • Identify and manage complications associated with CKD and ESRD.
  • Monitor and manage fluid status, edema, electrolyte abnormalities, and blood pressure as they relate to renal disease.
  • Review medication regimens for appropriate renal dosing and potential nephrotoxic medications.
  • Assist with evaluation and management of patients with renal hypertension and other conditions contributing to kidney disease.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and nephrology case discussions.
  • Communicate significant changes in renal function or patient condition to the supervising nephrologist and appropriate members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner/APRN license in the state of practice.
  • 2+ years of Nurse Practitioner experience in Nephrology preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to independently evaluate complex renal conditions and recognize changes in patient status.
  • Strong understanding of renal laboratory values, medications, and treatment protocols.
  • Experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, dialysis, hospital, or outpatient nephrology setting.
