Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a Field Service Technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical power distribution equipment for utilities and industrial clients across North America.

You will work hands-on with transformers, breakers, switchgear, and relays, traveling regionally while delivering exceptional service in accordance with safety standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
• NETA 3 certification preferred; equivalent 5–10 years' experience on commercial/industrial electrical projects considered.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment.
• Test transformers, breakers, switchgear, relays, and related equipment.
• Respond to customer needs, including emergency calls, with professionalism and urgency.
• Maintain a safe work environment per safety standards.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation.
• Care for company tools and test equipment; manage check-in/out.
• Travel locally and regionally, with periodic overnight assignments.

As a Field Service Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting our customers by inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical power distribution equipment. You’ll work hands‑on with a wide range of systems, deliver exceptional service, and be a trusted resource in the field representing Sunbelt Solomon.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
• Perform electrical testing on transformers, breakers, switchgear, relays, and related equipment.
• Respond to customer needs—including occasional emergency calls with professionalism and urgency.
• Ensure a safe work environment by following company and customer safety standards.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation.
• Properly manage, check in/out, and care for company tools and test equipment.
• Travel locally and regionally, with periodic overnight assignments.

Requirements

What You Bring

High school diploma or GED; technical training or associate degree in electrical trades preferred.

• NETA 3 certification preferred; will substitute 5-10 years of relevant work experience on commercial or industrial electrical projects
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Strong commitment to safety, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and hazard awareness.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and control schematics.
• Skilled in the use of industrial electrical test equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and drug-screen requirements
• Willingness to travel to job sites and
• Ability to work in energized and de‑energized electrical areas following strict safety procedures.
• Eligibility to work in the US without need for employer sponsored VISA (work permit)

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in outdoor or industrial environments.

Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.

• Ability to work extended hours, including nights or weekends during outages or emergency service calls.
