You edit for ideas as well as copy and enjoy working closely with reporters to map out their coverage and develop stories. This role requires stepping into a beat newsroom, and you are able to catch on and contribute without shying away. You enjoy collaborating with multimedia journalists and producers on documentaries, series, and news stories around Colorado and deftly manage short- and long-term projects. Most importantly, you're self-directed, creative, and curious about how Coloradans live, work, and play in one of the country's most dynamic regions. This is a part-time, temporary position anticipated to begin on October 15, 2026, and end in February 2027. This position is not eligible for employee benefits.

Work Environment
The Denver-Metro Area editor will work in a hybrid work-from-home/office environment, with in-person days at the Buell Public Media Center in Denver's Ballpark neighborhood. This position will work up to 30 hours per week and requires some schedule flexibility, including occasional evenings and weekends.
