Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC in El Paso, TX is seeking a Drawing 2 Operator to coordinate, set up and operate the drawing machine to produce copper wire from feeder stock. This mid‑level role requires strict adherence to safety and quality standards as part of a continuous production line.

You will load bobbins, manage take‑up packages, perform high quality welds, check dimensions, and adjust machine settings to meet specifications. Training is provided; overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods.
• Must be able to operate and adjust a multi‑wire drawing machine safely.

Responsibilities

• Set‑up and operate multi‑wire drawing machine.
• Run correct wire sizes and lengths per production order.
• Load/unload bobbins/reels and manage take‑up packages.
• Make high quality welds in feeder stock and monitor process speeds.
• Maintain proper die set‑ups and measure wire after dies.
• Coordinate material handling to sustain continuous production.
• Record weights and monitor QA checks per ISO procedures.
• Report issues to supervisor and maintain good housekeeping.
