Job summary

VCI Construction in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Copper Splicer to connect and maintain copper wire networks for telecommunications, ensuring reliable phone and internet services through precise splicing and repair work. You’ll work both aerially and underground with safety in mind.

This full-time role offers weekly pay, PTO, education reimbursement, 401(k) with company match, stock purchase plan, and more. You will test, activate, troubleshoot equipment, document work, and adhere to industry

Qualifications

Six months copper splicing experience or one year in telecommunications.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid U.S. driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Ability to pass DOT physical exam and obtain medical card.
Must be 18+ years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
Willingness to work at heights and in varied environments.

Responsibilities

With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air.
Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
Document work performed through daily production reports and maps.
