Job summary

Southwire Company, a leader in wire and cable products, is hiring for a Night Shift D position focused on copper rod production in a high-heat mill. You will operate and maintain equipment, log materials in SAP, and support safety and quality initiatives while working as part of a skilled team.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and mechanical aptitude. The role offers night shift hours with a competitive pay rate and opportunities to grow within a large U.S.

Qualifications

• Nine months of industrial experience or equivalent.
• Ability to work in high heat environments.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Proficient in English and safety instructions.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Mechanical inclination for furnace/melting environments.
• Knowledge of hot mill casting, rolling, or furnace control is a plus.
• Direct manufacturing experience with multiple pinch points and molten products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce copper rod in the rod mill under supervision.
• Unload cathode from beds and vans; log in SAP with accuracy.
• Maintain furnace areas and equipment per safety and quality standards.
• Assist in material handling and process adjustments as needed.
• Operate baling equipment and forklifts safely.
• Support housekeeping and safety audits; promote teamwork.
