Job summary

Wieland is seeking an Operator in East Alton, IL to support copper and alloy production. The role includes setup, calibration, and changeovers, with duties assisting maintenance and guiding other production staff. Starting pay is $32.17 per hour, with a rotating swing shift and bi-weekly pay schedule. Three openings.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of manufacturing experience. Safety and teamwork are essential in this hands-on production environment.

Qualifications

• Must follow health and safety regulations and wear protective gear.
• Ability to read and understand packaging and shipping documents.
• Ability to read a tape measure and capability to read a vernier caliper.
• Ability to navigate a preprogrammed data recording system and troubleshoot machines.
• Stand and move for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate annealing, cleaning and slitting equipment for copper, brass and alloy strip.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklift, crane, etc.).
• Use shop floor MES to determine run schedules, equipment parameters and quality deliverables.
• Maintain equipment safety and report service requests.
• Collaborate with maintenance to minimize downtime and meet department goals.
• Perform general housekeeping and support other departments as needed.
