The role requires steering a skilled team of metallurgists, engineers, and technicians, driving continuous improvement, sustainability, and compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Qualifications

• . Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field.
• . 8+ years in metallurgical roles with at least 2 in a leadership position.
• . Experience with copper or base metal mining.
• . In-depth understanding of metallurgical processes, mineralogy, and mineral processing equipment.
• . Proven ability to lead and motivate a technical team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• . Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations; MSHA certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize copper and molybdenum extraction processes to maximize recovery and ensure product quality.
• Lead and mentor a team of metallurgists, engineers, and technicians.
• Stay abreast of industry advancements and implement new technologies to improve processes.
• Implement and monitor quality control measures to meet standards.
• Collaborate with environmental teams to ensure sustainability compliance.
• Manage metallurgical projects with timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with mining, geology, and engineering teams to optimize operations.
• Generate reports on metallurgical processes and production performance.
