Job summary

Coos County is looking for a Maintenance Worker VI to oversee the operation of mechanical equipment in the Rock Crushing Yard. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience maintaining rock crusher equipment and parts, as well as a CDL Class A certification.

This position requires considerable knowledge of various grades of rock used in highway maintenance and the ability to supervise employees. Excellent health insurance benefits are provided, along with a 6% County contribution to the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System.

Job description

The Coos County Road Dept. has an opening for a Maintenance Worker VI. The County operates a rock crushing yard and this position oversees the operation ensuring mechanical equipment is in good operation. Will be required to inspect, diagnose and make repairs to the equipment. Requires a CDL class A, with four years of knowledge / experience of rock crusher equipment and parts. Considerable knowledge of various grades of rock used in highway maintenance. May be required to oversee supervision of some employees. Will also be required to operate a backhoe, brush cutter, excavator, grader, paver, dozer, truck & trailer (lowboy trailer), loader, dump truck, water truck, mower, roller, sand truck, jackhammer, tack truck/trailer, broom, and othersmall tools and equipment.
