Job summary

CoolSys is seeking a full-time Material Handler/Driver in Portland, OR to support HVAC/Refrigeration service and construction sites by delivering materials and loading/unloading as needed.

You will follow DOT/HAZMAT guidelines, ensure on-time deliveries, and assist journeymen and foremen with setup and cleanup while maintaining accurate ERP documentation. Strong safety awareness and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of proper methods and regulations for securing loads.
• Ability to drive 24” flat bed and box truck; operate various vehicles up to 22 ft stake bed.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
• Able to read a map and navigate area freeways.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support on HVAC/Refrigeration service and construction/install sites by delivering materials to job sites to ensure on-time delivery.
• Transport and protect loads per DOT/HAZMAT and regulatory guidelines.
• Dispose of packing materials and waste per city/county/national guidelines.
• Load/unload parts manually or with forklift/crane as needed; follow heavy lifting safety protocols.
• Assist Journeyman and Foreman by setting up equipment and cleaning up job sites; document receipts in ERP.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Provides support on HVAC/Refrigeration service and construction/install job sites by picking up indirect/direct materials from warehouse and/or vendors and delivering to job sites ensuring an on-time delivery to the project. Provides support through proper selection of transportation methods used to effectively, safely, and accurately (within DOT, HAZMAT, etc. regulatory guidelines) transport and protect carried loads to and from job sites. Responsible for ensuring all packing materials, waste, scrap, etc. are disposed of in proper methods meeting each city, county, state, national guidelines for disposal. This includes, but not limited to, things such as boxes, wrapping, scrap metal, waste water, refrigerant and the cylinders the gas is sold in, flammable liquids/gases/powders, etc.. Provides support by loading and unloading parts by hand, or through the use of a forklift, crane/hoist, etc., as needed. Required to follow heavy lifting safety protocol to ensure safety is always #1 priority. Provides assistance to the Journeyman and Foreman by setting up equipment and cleaning up job site, as needed. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management. Responsible for proper documentation (timely and accurate completion) on paper and/or in the system of record (ERP) of all receipts of any materials picked up, returns to vendor, return to a warehouse inventory location, etc.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of proper methods and regulations in tying down parts and pallets. Able to drive 24” flat bed and box truck. Ability to drive various vehicles up to a 22 ft stake bed truck and forklift with current certifications validated and kept on file. Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to use, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) as well as web based material management systems. Ability to efficiently read a road map and knowledge of area freeway systems. Skill in mechanical and knowledge of hand tool operation. Ability and strong desire to learn. Good communication skills and ability to take direction. Familiarity with safety rules and guidelines including ladder safety, heavy lifting, and machine operation, as well as basic driving rules. Ability to operate hand-truck. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. while following heavy lifting safety requirements
