Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, responsible for all aspects of data collection, input, maintenance, and evaluation of the information obtained during a patient visit in the Surgical Services Department.

The candidate should be organized, able to learn new systems, possess excellent communication skills, and be well versed in obstetrics and gynecology practices, procedures, surgeries, and billing procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Knowledge of basic information systems such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and keyboarding skills usually acquired through completion of computer classes, Business or Secretarial school. Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education. Approximately two years of experience in the Medical Imaging, Radiology, or Surgical Services Department to understand departmental needs and develop necessary skills. Ability to learn and master new computer systems as required. Analytical skills to evaluate data integrity and identify solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse individuals. Ability to coordinate information with various departments such as HFHS Information Systems and Nursing.
