Job summary

Covenant House is seeking a part-time Prospect Research Coordinator to support donor engagement by identifying, researching, and profiling major prospects. You will leverage AI-enabled tools and data-driven insights to inform cultivation and stewardship across portfolios.

Qualifications

  • Experience in development and prospect research (1–3 years).
  • Proficiency with AI-enabled research and data enrichment tools.
  • Familiarity with donor research platforms (iWave, Wealth Engine).
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication.
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to New York City once per year.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Overview

Since 1972, Covenant House has served and advocated for youth and young families experiencing homelessness, human trafficking, and exploitation. Our overarching goal is to end homelessness among youth and young families by helping them achieve housing stability, heal from trauma, tap into their innate resilience, and hone their interests and skills to forge new pathways to independence. This work is carried out across Covenant House sites in 34 cities in the US, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.

About the Role

The Coordinator plays a key role in the execution of donor engagement strategy by providing insights and analysis integral to the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, institutions, corporate partners, and prospects with the capacity to make transformational contributions to Covenant House.

Reporting to the Manager, Supporter Engagement, you will also leverage emerging technologies, AI-enabled tools, and data-driven practices to enhance prospect research and strategic insights that inform relationship management decisions.

This is a part-time position expected to work 25 hours per week. This position is not eligible for health benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify new major and transformational giving prospects across all revenue streams using traditional research methods and AI-powered prospecting tools and data enrichment platforms

  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain research profiles and reports used across all stages of the relationship management cycle

  • Support, attend and facilitate prospect review and donor cultivation strategy meetings

  • Utilize Every Action, Donor Drive, iWave, Wealth Engine and other systems, along with emerging AI and analytics tools, to conduct prospect research and identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.

  • Manage research updates and deliverables in project management systems and CRM, ensuring data integrity and consistency

  • Leverage automation tools and AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency in research and reporting.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather feedback and continuously improve research processes, incorporating new technologies and innovative approaches to enhance outcomes

  • Support all relationship mapping strategies and requests to identify new prospective high net worth prospects and project manage the process, drafting outreach and tracking outcomes

  • Lead the research for supporters who qualify for portfolio assignments to support timely stewardship efforts

  • Organize and manage research files in SharePoint

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in iWave, Wealth Engine and/or other research platforms, with a demonstrated ability or willingness to learn AI-enabled research and analytics tools

  • Knowledge of prospect research principles and best practices

  • Experience using AI tools (generative AI, data enrichment tools, automation platforms) to enhance productivity and insight generation

  • A compassionate and collegial team player who thrives in a collaborative environment

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills, including the ability to synthesize information clearly

  • Detail-oriented and adept at managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability, with a willingness to explore and adopt new technologies and innovative approaches

  • Ability to work for several different individuals on a variety of projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in development and prospect research

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with our tools - Every Action, Asana, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite

  • Bachelor's degree

Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel once per year to New York City in October for our annual in-person traditions

  • Occasional travel to New York City for all staff events
